What is the Bits Per Frame option for on Android?
Bits per Frame is a measure of how much data is used to save your videos.
By using Bits per Frame instead of per Second, we’re able to dynamically scale the bits per second based on your selected framerate and resolution.
What this means for you is that you won’t need to change this when you change camera settings because it changes with your camera settings.
The default settings are our favorite because it balances quality and file size really well:
- 4K@30fps for 30 seconds: 360 Megabytes
- 1080@30fps for 30 seconds: 90 Megabytes
The higher setting, 3.2 Megabits per Frame, is great for when you want to maximize quality:
- 4K@30fps for 30 seconds: 720 Megabytes
- 1080@30fps for 30 seconds: 180 Megabytes
