What is Experimental 4K+ on Android?
Experimental 4K+ is a very powerful shooting option on some specific devices that don’t support regular 4K recording.
These devices instead shoot at 4032×2268 instead of the standard 4K 3840×2160.
- Videos recorded at 4K+ cannot be played back on the device, but can be played back on a computer.
- You have the option to generate lower resolution previews so you can review footage on your device, but while these previews are being saved you are not able to record.
- Generating previews typically takes twice as long as the video you recorded.
- You may also opt not to generate previews so you can resume shooting more quickly.
