INTRODUCTION

This Service Bulletin (SB) announces the availability of Synapse Version 3.6.0 and Alta App Version 1.3. Synapse Version 3.6.0 is recommended for all operators and features important safety improvements.

Because of the safety improvements present in Synapse Version 3.6.0, Freefly does not recommending continuing flight operations with Synapse Version 3.5.1 or earlier.

BACKGROUND

Synapse Version 3.6.0 contains the following changes from Synapse Version 3.5.1:

• Adjusted microcontroller operating voltage

Alta App Version 1.3 contains the following changes from Alta App Version 1.2:

• Added Position Light brightness adjustment feature
• Added support for three version numbers

OPERATIONAL CHANGES

There are no operational changes related to Synapse Version 3.6.0.

 

Alta App Version 1.3 includes Position Light brightness adjustment for operation in darker environments. It also address an issue when running Synapse 3.5.1 and later where after loading a configuration saved in version 3.4.0 or earlier causes the Position Lights to turn off.

METHOD OF COMPLIANCE

Synapse Version 3.6.0 is packaged in Alta App version 1.3. Download the update to your mobile device using either Android Play for Android devices, or the App Store for iOS devices.

 

To update firmware, follow the steps in the Aircraft Flight Manual in the section Firmware Update Process.

 

After updating, reversion to Synapse Version 3.5.1 is also possible with the app using the same process.

KNOWN ISSUES

There is a known issue where Synapse Version 3.5.1 will appear as 3.5.0 in the About screen of the app.
