Mōvi Pro News

• The Mōvi Pro line of cinema products, including Mōvi XL, Mōvi Carbon, and Mōvi Controller have been sunset as of April, 14th 2026, and are no longer in production.
• Service, critical accessories, and support will continue at least through May 2028 for existing customers.

FAQ

1. When will L-Mount ship?
   • We’re accepting pre-orders that are expected to ship in mid-June, 2026.
2. Will L-Mount have autofocus? 
   • The Ember will not have continuous auto focus with L-Mount (not technically practical at Ember frame rates) but you can manually control the focus and iris through the camera, app and HTTP API (coming soon).
3. What kind of dynamic range does Ember have?
   • Ember has 11 stops
4. Is the L-Mount Adapter compatible with all Embers?
   • All Embers with an EF Mount can be user-converted to L-Mount. This includes all Ember S2.5K.
   • Early Ember S5K may need service at Freefly to support electronic L-Mount control. 
5. Can we get S2.5K with L-Mount?
   • It will be available for pre-order with a 4TB drive by April 24th on the Ember S2.5K page.
6. Can we get ProRes HQ?
   • We’re not making any promises on availability or timeline, but:
   • We’re evaluating it internally, but it would come with frame rate penalties (60% reduction in fps).
   • ProRes 422 LT is already a very high bit rate all-intra CODEC
7. Where do we find LUTs for Ember?
   • We have color information for Ember, including LUTs on our wiki.
