The Challenge
Move a camera vertically up the side of an 40-foot tall tree (as close to the tree surface as possible) with increasing speed to simulate the feel of a plane taking off.
The Setup
Construct a special elevator with pulley system, counter weights and rails to move Mōvi XL up the tree. Mōvi XL made this shot possible because it’s compact and allowed for an incredibly close perspective, wireless so it could move freely up and down the tree, yet powerful enough to manage and control the unique lens configuration to deliver the exact POV the clients requested. The ability to precisely adjust speed and angle to give the impression of a plane taking off was critical, but easily executed thanks to Mōvi XL.
