Why do I need to pay a deposits for Astro Map?

As we ramp up our production rate, we are collecting deposits to hold your place in our build schedule. This is currently possible for Astro Map and the Mapping Payload. The deposits help us communicate more clearly when each customer will be able to pay in full and receive their Astro, based on how many we can build each month.

Key points: 

  1. We’ve already reached out to everyone that made a reservation for Astro! If you made a reservation and didn’t receive an email from us about placing a deposit already, please reach out to Astro Support with the button at the bottom of this page and we’ll get everything figured out.
  2. Deposits need to be paid with a credit card. If your purchasing department has an unbudging policy prevents this, please reach out and plead your case, and we’ll see what we can do to help.
  3. You don’t need to put a deposit down for both an Astro Map and a Mapping Payload. The Mapping Payload deposit is for people that already have an Astro Base, or just want the Mapping Payload for some other integration.
  4. When we are 2-3 weeks out from being able to ship what you’ve placed a deposit for, we’ll email you (at the address you provide on the deposit order) to provide a link to complete the purchase in full. At the same time, we’ll refund your initial deposit.
  5. Deposits are 100% refundable. If something comes up and you need to cancel your order, please let us know.
